The Must-Have Fashion Accessory of 2019 Pizza Festival

The toga may just be the finest item of clothing ever invented. Simultaneously classy, durable and un-fussy: it's the epitome of no-f**ks-given fashion. This single sheet can be worn by both men and women, providing one of the most comfortable, airy, and eye-catching garments since the prickly and far too revealing fig leaf. Hell, if actually wearing a toga was socially acceptable, you could wake up, reach for the nearest corner of your bedsheet, make one full roll, and be ready for work with little more than a few nifty tucks.
Why, oh why, did they ever go out of fashion? Well, there's the small issue of them being a massive death risk when mounting a bike or getting into a car, which the Romans – and specifically Romulus, a huge proponent and popularizer of said toga – never had to contend with. Then there's the fact that they were apparently also "hard to put on, uncomfortable and challenging to wear correctly, and never truly popular."
'Animal House' can be credited with reintroducing the toga to a whole new generation of US college students

That hasn't, however, stopped the toga from returning into mainstream culture every now and then, most notably in 1978's Animal House, a touchstone of modern American culture. Now, it's our turn to keep the mighty toga alive, and we at the Beijinger invite you and Beijing's thousands of other pizza lovers to don a white sheet and head down to Tuanjiehu's Dongfeng International Sports Park on Aug 17-18, 11am-8pm, for a toga-pizza party unlike anything Beijing has ever seen before.
We're giving each and every one of you the opportunity to buy the entire toga get-up as well as your ticket. There are several options depending on how toga-licious you're wanting to look (correct answer: very).
RMB 20: A ticket to the fest plus an olive branch wreath
RMB 50: A ticket to the fest plus a 2019 Pizza Fest T-shirt and olive branch wreath
RMB 60: A ticket to the fest plus a toga, waistband, olive branch wreath (including delivery)
RMB 60: Three tickets to the fest plus a picnic blanket

Already bought your toga? Here are some tips on how to actually wear it, courtesy of WikiHow (and this is only one way to do it, scan/extract QR code below for more options, including some rad, female-friendly styles).
1. Fold your sheet in half length-ways and drape one end over your shoulder until it reaches your belly button. Underwear recommended, but not mandatory.
2. Hold the draped portion while pulling the back end of the sheet around your waist.
3. Continue to wrap the sheet around your body several times.
4. Once you only have a small portion of the sheet left, throw it over the same shoulder that you started with.
5. Adjust as necessary before securing it at the shoulder with a safety pin.
You should now look a little something like this.
